Her sighs are like arrows, poison-tipped darts, That pierce the heart, and thaw frozen veins, Her tears like knives, they tear me apart, I am bound to her, manacled and chained. Her lies, jagged thorns ,they become my crown, A diadem that draws blood with her frown, Her sins and her sadness are part of me, This is love's joy and perfect agony. < !signature--> 'Humankind cannot bear too much reality' T.S.Eliot [This message has been edited by Tony Abbot (edited 11-30-2000).] |

this is such a COOL poem... outstanding use of metaphor and comparison and the emotions are written with depth and intensity. I really like the dark edge that many of your poems have. "This is love's joy and perfect agony." how poetically perfect and true that line is and how very cool as well. another one of yours for my file. thanks take care jm Sprayed across my heart and hers Danced butterflies in the wild This angel, this woman , who loves me with the innocence of a child. ~DeVante~ |

Tony, you captured the ying and yang of a relationship very well... Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

This is a great poem. It shows how love hurts, but we still have to have it. Love it. |

Yes, love can be painful at times but love means working with understanding and compassion to ease the pain and make it more joy than sorrow. This was beautiful and heartfelt. Much love from me to you. Love I leave with you my friend whether it be in your life or of yet the essense of your dreams. http://path2riches.com |
