Please Abort Me |

A woman's right to choose should not be abused... But what happens when a choice takes a life? Is that right? What's the difference between a fetus and a human? A human was once a fetus and a fetus will soon be a human. So, how can we treat them so inhumane? A baby...so young Some people don't even call it a baby yet. It's nothing to them. It's nothing to them to have it sucked out of their bodies, piece-by-piece Stuffed into a glass jar And sent off to the lab to be experimented on It's nothing to them to have someone's skull collapse inside their bodies Until the brain dies When it was once alive Some argue that it NEVER was alive... but that isn't even the issue If someone has a CHANCE at life... should that CHOICE be taken away? What a bunch of hypocrites! All about the choices they say... But who gives the baby the choice to live or to be murdered by it's own mother? I guess that if my own mother didn't want me so badly that she would rather have my arms and legs ripped off my body inside of her... Well, then I'd say, "Please abort me" < !signature--> "Do not marry the one that you can live with. Marry the one you cannot live without." this hurts right in the pit of my stomache...having just gone thru this with a friend..(a male friend..not the girl..) i feel your anger all over this piece..and i have to agree with you..it angers me too..i find it very frustrating, that such a choice is made so often, and with such disregard for life..i feel there is little reason to make this choice--rape, or if for some reason the mother is at risk and had taken precautions not to get pregnant and they didnt work...maybe.. but i see no other reasons... ..the last part of your poem is chilling..if thats the way the mother feels..then maybe the child would make such choice, on his own...perhaps..who can say.. this is shaking.. good write my friend..good place to share it.. hugs, g< !signature--> "so lift your heart with mine...the depth to which it grieves is the height to which it can celebrate!" -Lisa Hussey [This message has been edited by dgvarner (edited 11-28-2000).] |

Powerful piece. It scares me that abortion is seen by some as an easy solution to unwanted pregnancy. 'Humankind cannot bear too much reality' T.S.Eliot |

A difficult topic indeed. I'm not afraid to reply with this quote. Psalm 139 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. Guess God was working on us before we were born, everyone deserves to be completed! Thank you for posting this one. What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life. Walt Whitman |

I am with you too, and agree with the poets above me....it's hard to believe that people can destroy a beginning live without regrets. thank you for sharing this wonderful poem. ((hugs)) Charisma |
