Tapered Candle Melted I have notice how fall has taken the liquid amber and torched its leaves with fire when last year’s vision nestled around summer and would not let go of its vibrant hold on green until winter dripped its way across the lawn and fell into a perfect cloudy day Now the caprice of change has insisted that I notice the scarlet vista opening and it takes me down into its soft beguile in yellowed crunch to lay in feathered leaves and scan the stripes across the sky that fly me fly me into dirt that seeps cold clods of truth Sun me still I ask the sky for lack takes this whistle to crying ‘til the earth whispers just let it be this day will pass and this sky will blue again and you my sister will sing still So fall has taken the liquid amber and dormant comes upon the grass and the rose cranes its long thistle stem around the trellis seeking light then opening still in lavender abandon and I wonder if it is too late to capture this exquisite moment to late to capture fall weaving brushfulls of last minutes into the shade where the table sits with two chairs side by side and a tapered candle melted. |

I am sitting here shaking my head ... how do you do this time and time again so damn consistantly well.... the imagery here is exquisite Martie ... the way your eyes invision the world about you.. and if I have to walk there on my lips... I gotta see that back yard of yours .. cause mine just has leaves on the ground and a couple of lawn chairs take a bow for this one sweets... (and I will be reading your offering I just found in prose when I can give it the attention I wish to.. to take in every word) |

I must agree with Poets Marie, 'Deer, Denise and Bonnie...you brush your scenes so beautifully... Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

Janet--you always clap so loud, how could I not take a bow? Balladeer--Mother nature, hmmm, that would make me how old? Thanks deer, you're sweet! Denise--Thanks hon for the beautiful. Hi Bonnie--so glad to see you! Thanks Karilea for being such an agreeable person |

Martie Yet another beautiful lyric poem centred around natural images - one day i shall write something similar, and i'll be pleased if it's even half as evocative as your words lovely my friend P |

You may not be mother nature but you sure as heck could sit in for her. (NO, not because of the age thing silly, because your wonderful ways of painting such lovely verses for us all to share.) I have sorely missed reading your poetry as much as I have been gone lately and I am hoping and trying to get settled down some so that I can once again go to sleep with your words last in my minds eye. As it is now, I can only refer the ones of yours I have printed to read over but that is okay because not one of them has lost any of their beauty. If any thing, they all get more beautiful with each read. Sort of makes them vintage now doesn't it? Lovely write my sweet cherished friend. |

"how fall has taken the liquid amber and torched its leaves with fire" Many exquisite lines here but none to surpass these = I'm truly envious - you are sooo very good - this is a perfect treasure |
