Lorelei sweet Lorelei O maiden from the sea For your song all men sigh Yearn for your mystery Lorelei brave Lorelei Your siren's song you sing It's enough to make men fly To rest beneath your wing Lorelei soft Lorelei Your finny tale is sad Where's the lover from the bye Who nearly drove you mad Lorelei sing Lorelei A song of ocean deep Give the dreams to lift them high Lure them down with sleep Lorelei sad Lorelei Your victims all reclaim The loving soul that makes you cry And your name defame Lorelei lost Lorelei Claim your love at last Rise with foam that will not die And hold on to him fast Lorelei loved Lorelei A love at last for you One who's love you cannot try One who'll see you through Why do yesterdays remain and todays pass by ...unnoticed? several years ago I read the lorelei, in german of course. it is perhaps one of the best poems I read, though you ask me now how it went and I couldn't tell you for my life. damn I hate growing old. I read most of the great german poets and I have to admit that they probably influenced me more than anything or any one in how I write, specifically sturm, goethe, schilling and their companion writers. if only I'd paid more attention in class when we read them. I'd then give you a run for your money on german fairy tales. perhaps I'll write one on the niebelungenlied, or maybe an individual with in it. not sure. I'll have to try and remember german between now and then. damn I hate growing old. nice poem though. wonderfully done, hope to see more with such classical references. |

Kethry, this shows the time and care that went in to penning this piece...well done... Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

This is a song! It touched my heart. I loved the graphic, how do you do that? What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life. Walt Whitman |

"Lorelei loved Lorelei A love at last for you One who's love you cannot try One who'll see you through" This is a beautiful piece! I haven't read the piece that desperado refers to, but I still enjoyed the piece. You have great talent!
