Well, here it is, Thanksgiving day That special time of year When we all gather once again To spread a little cheer. Let's eat some food and spend the day On this past year's reflection And see if we can do it With no thoughts of the election. The turkey is a beauty Flanked by salad, spuds and rolls If Palm beach ladies shot the bird It would have had 2 holes! There's nothing like a table filled with turkey and the fixin's to make a man's mouth water... We were better off with Nixon! That bird is such a big one It is plump and round and fat it lays there with feet in the air just like a Democrat. The left wing's rather dried out And the right wing's overdone. The other parts that have no taste Must be Republicans. We bow our heads in reverence give praise to thank the Lord and wonder why those Palm Beach gals can play 5 bingo cards....... and never miss a number no matter how fast they may call it but don't know how to punch a hole on the presidential ballot! Oh, Lord we thank you for this day and pray for many more please deliver us from evil and also Bush and Gore! |

Yanno, Deer... there aren't many people who can insult both major candidates and their supporters with the class you've just managed! *G* This country does seem to have an overabundance of turkeys... and most of them aren't on the lunch menu! *G* This is great! |

"Oh, Lord we thank you for this day and pray for many more please deliver us from evil and also Bush and Gore!" I know the entire election has mutated into something that is far from funny, but you made me chuckle, sir. |

Who would have ever once thought we'd want to stick with the turkey that we've got and that this election would've stunk now who would've ever thunk? Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

This is wonderful! I, too, especially loved the end, but am impressed with how even-handed this is. You have certainly captured MY feelings on the election! To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |

L.M.A.O. Brilliant poem, sorry we Europians shouldn't laugh at your political problems, but its good to know you don't take it too seriously either. Regards, Olias. |

Ok Mr Balladeer, now who do we get to carve the turkey this year, Bush or Gore. I don't trust either with a sharp object. Happy Thanksgiving! |

'Deer this is wonderful! The link between turkeys and elections is a given, but who else could have done it so well... Only you and your quirky sense of humor. Write on Kethry Why do yesterdays remain and todays pass by ...unnoticed? Rex E. Alford |
