Autumn Listen to the autumn birds. Extract the love from songs they sing Consisting of those silent words That sadness loves and beauty brings. And on silent silver wings Crave for beauty till it hurts. |

so much said...a beautiful craving... Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

This brought back an event from last night. I'd gone out at 11:30 +-, to take out the trash. The sky had a strange glow, though dim, to it because it was totally overcast and reflecting our city's night lights, I guess. Anyway, somewhere above the clouds, unable to be seen, but so clearly heard, was a flock of geese. The sounds they made, the cry of the wild goose, was almost mournful of summer's passing and winter's coming. They really tugged at me, I wanted to just stand out there and listen. Thanks for bringing this recall and letting me relive the event. I think I may try to write a poem about it. I truly enjoyed this piece of yours. |
