When looking back through
               aged innocence
lilacs bloomed again in
               the morning
and there . . .
time's knowing eyes still
               remember
walking barefoot in love
               with you.

This was one of those ideas that started out in one direction and ended up somewhere else and a surprise to boot. No doubt you've been there.
