In my mind there is a treasure chest and in it I keep things I love best I keep them hidden in place and time these things are safe and they are mine I keep the woman that I call mother she really wasn't but I had no other There is a man I felt so close I held too tight he became a ghost Faces of friends I've won and lost some went cheap but still at a cost Then came two boys two years apart to fill this void inside my heart Many warm wonderful things in the chest none more precious nor better than the rest When my days are feeling low there is a place only I can go I go to the chest and unlock the door and happiness comes out once more And to my surprise there is no fear for all the things I love are near Again I shut the door and turn the key for when I need them they are here for me |

(sigh) Oh, how very beautiful! Memories are precious, and they will always be here to guide us and fill us with love and happiness if locked away in there. This was a very lovely poem. Thank you for sharing, my friend! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |

Very good, slick...Memories are all we get sometimes and it's so good to be able to pull them out and remember happy times..Even sad times, they are the ones' we learn from... ~LL~ The way to love anything is to realize it might be lost. author unknown |

I love the way you write, lady. Lots of subtle, powerful emotion. I guess I'm prejudiced as your writings remind me of the things I TRY and accomplish in my own writing; then I see them done in yours. You've a powerful pen my friend. It says mighty things. Don't stop. jwesley |
