Golden Words

Golden words so gently placed upon a silver screen
Flash into the nighttime space and touch an isle of green
They move around the planet’s rings and soar the speed of sound
They fly on little angel wings and bounce back to the ground

It’s hard for me to understand that little things I say
May fall into the waiting hand of someone far away
Perhaps I wrote what’s in his heart, emotions of the day
That touched a very tender part of what he couldn’t say

The cardinal wing  that rest’s upon the holly’s snowy limb
May be a vision in a song that is unreal to him
But conjures up the splendor of a little native bird
That sings a song more tenderly than any I have heard

So let my keyboard coursers fling like arrows into space
Let the free born verses bring a smile to someone’s face
Hopefully my poem will be a treasure they will hold
Printed from a screen of silver into words of gold

Sometimes words the speed of sound are thoughts that will not last
Not to worry, I have found I cannot type that fast

Elizabeth Santos

Ah, Liz another masterpiece from your magic pen! I love this poem and the thought that we can touch a heart or even change a life with our poetry! Glorious! Ellie

I love the premise of this one Lizzie ...
your words of gold are wrapped in the wisdom and wonder that is always present in your poetry.
Poetry's gift is its ablity to say what someone may have not been able to express
and the world beyond these screens now allows our words and poetry to reach so much farther than books of printed poems ever could.
Your words are always golden in this "little world here..Poetry Land"...
and in my heart
take care sweet poet

Am I loved by my words
Will my vows weather the tide

all the rhythms of life
And a heart can be held without pride

May I just say that this is beautiful, and that I have often thought about how far around the world my words go sometimes also?

Can I be your willful breeze,
Come to touch,
Your heart to ease?

LizzieLady~
Yep !
So often the words of another's heart
come to rest in ours ...
Wonderfully shared, dear lady.

Thank you, dear poets and dear hearts, for  the lovely remarks. You all, too have touched my heart every day, from New Zealand to South Africa, your words bounce over to me in seconds and warm my days.
I just noticed that every two lines except the last two in the second to last stanza have inner rhyming. I think I just forgot about it. I bet no one even noticed the effort. Oh, well.
Thank you all

It is perfect all of it.  Sometimes emotion takes precedence over form and thank God!

"placed, space"
"rings, wings"
"understand, hand"
"heart, part"

Oh I noticed dear Liz ... (smiling here) ... of course I did! Every nuance you add is a treasure that makes your words flow so perfectly!

Couldn't help but come back for another read my friend, much enjoyed,

Best wishes,
/Kit
