Love is like a butterfly

A butterfly landed close by.
She smiled and kissed me
as she looked into my eyes.
Somewhere in the afterglow
she became the most beautiful
woman alive.

We were so close for awhile
and now so far apart.
I'd be lying if I said she
didn't break my heart.

The truth of the matter is
butterflies don't always stay.
Almost anyone can tell you
they simply fly away.

So I will cry
as I miss her.
My love will slowly die
even as I yearn for what we were.

Seems the only thing I won't
be doing is kissing her.
Deep in my heart I know
I have to let her go.

I must say goodbye.  Why?
Love is like a butterfly.

Nice comparison James they are such beautiful little creatures but for sure they don't stay in one place very long. The other sad thing is they don't live very long either....oh well here I sit waiting for the next butterfly... good job James! Creative thinking!

Am I loved by my words
Will my vows weather the tide
Bended knees can forsee
all the rhythms of life
And a heart can be held without pride

James~

Butterflies are meant to flit
across the blossoming of our hearts~
In beauty remembered, long after they've fluttered by.

Another one that touches the heart with sadness my friend.  Be thankful that you were able to hold this butterfly for the time that you did and try to enjoy those good memories.  It is hard to sometimes but you yourself will be soaring soon I know just as the eagle would.
