License And Registration Please By: Noah Eaton 12/30/00 It is a small world after all, but it could be a lot bigger As we all stand here, thunderstruck with the promises we have for the future Promises we treasure to ourselves, promises that we can’t keep As the placid talons of responsibility burden us, swaying our rites of passages Life is an expedition in a hedge maze, rendered with all the artifacts of life As we piece it together, we coast through this whole “license and registration please” endeavor Ordain eyes of the overseen stare at us from the oaths and contracts we engrave our stamps upon This burden of loyalty licks it’s stamp to your face and leaves you steering fate in creeds steeplechase It’s a survival of the fittest situation, but anyone could win this game if they keep trustworthy Go through this arduous cycle, yet be able to follow your dreams Being able to play hearts card in a deck of reasons Where we seek joy and freedom as we don’t have to draw from the deck again We’ve walked We’ve dreamed We’ve talked We’ve singed We’ve praised We’ve fought We’ve faced Pain that we had undesirably sought Just believe in yourself and your dreams now, as we continue to follow our priorities And we can expand upon this small world with new fruitful promises and love and fidelity |
