Goodbye. ~Daniel J D~ Note on the table Anguish, hands shaking unable Long road ahead Crying, tears of no return Determining a new beginning Last child gone into schooling Dormitory, new friends Mum and Dad, heavy hearts Wedding bells, happy couple Leaving, friends and family cheering Buddies of games, packed ball Ageing, retiring, boots on the wall Greens, berets, railroads Patriot, into foreign fields Last breath of life, wreaths and flowers Adorning your choice of resting place It is time for saying goodbye, rest in peace. Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love (Daniel J D) |

Daniel* Your poem gave me reason to pause...I think that goodbyes are the moment that we truly realize how much someone means to us...and that's why they are so hard...that's just my opinion though ...excellent writing and my thanks to you...I love when poetry leaves room to think deeper about the subject~ You cannot dance in the sun until you have cried in the rain~ |

Amy, Thank you, I always enjoy your comments. Yes goodbyes come in all form and shapes. dsnyder, Cheers, and thanks for the reply. I do not like saying goodbye, I rather say until next time. Rainydays, Thank you. Tickets to faraway lands have meant many goodbyes, that have broken many families. Butterflies, Thank you so very much, I did make this poem a little difficult, reason being that goodbyes are very complex, particularly when they are forever. Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love (Daniel J D) |

Paula, Likewise, for me goodbyes mean pain more often than not. One of the goodbyes I made was to my island of birth Mauritius, I still regret the day. Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love (Daniel J D) |
