Layers of Whispers Virginia Salter layers of quietness rest within the realm of time whispers of gratitude beheld in harvest rime pumpkins bedazzled with glistening dew amber leaves and gold flitter past the yew blazing sunrise steams the rooftops nigh billowing puffs belch from smoke stacks, fly brittle stems hold up crispy flowers decorate my garden through these morning hours creatures seek place for snuggled repose curling into tiny balls tucking tail ‘round nose autumnal equinox carpets land ablaze reds, yellows, browns, ‘neath sky filled with haze song of birds grows silent, save sea gull’s laughing cry, finches nests full empty as season sidles by © October 23, 2000 |

Well written verse with great flow, a pleasure to read. If a dream touches us, it exists to us as anything else that touches us. John |
