Wrote this one Christmas morning but had to tweak it a little before posting this morning. Hope it works, now. Jingle, Jingle Virginia Salter Jingle, jingle all the way, don’t you know it’s Christmas Day! Bells are ringing, ships are sailing, look what’s in the manger hay. All the lights of the city are aglow in dawning’s rise What’s beneath the tree so pretty, bet that it’s a big surprise! Twinkle, twinkle children beam, tinsel glitters, glories stream, snow is someone’s memory caught up in one’s reverie. Slowly rising to the day little tots await their play wonderin’ what the night did bring visions, baubles, imagining! What to seek, what to find crimson bows, string to bind smiles come from thoughts so merry dances with a sugar-plum fairy. Yes, morning’s here and so are we come sit beside the Christmas tree. Whisper words of thanks and praise for the greatest of all days. Come with me, frivolity, that’s what saves are sanity we’ll dance beneath the winter sun thanking God for all He’s done. © December 25, 2000 |
