Phoenix Arise

Rising through the pain and darkest fears
Looking back on the valley of hearts tears
Strength and purpose are returning to me
Stretching my wings now I'm breaking free
See me soar upward and into the starry sky
Bidding farewell to those sorrowing sighs

Farewell to the doubts that cloud my heart
No more tearing my heart and soul apart
It's time I took back the control of my life
Goodbye forever to the trouble and strife
I'll shut the door on anger and mistrust too
From now on with negativity I'm through

I'll be like the Phoenix rising anew from fire
On wings of flame I'll fly higher and higher
Reborn in loves heat from the ashes I arise
This ecstasy and delight is true loves prize
My heart despairing and sad called to you
Alone in the dark she sought a lover true

Now watch as I cut the chains of captivity
A prisoner no more in spirit I am now free
I'll light up the night with desires delight
Sending all my demons back into the night
My heart shines brightly, illuminates the air
This wonder and heaven I want all to share

The wind isn't told which way it can blow
Rivers aren't instructed which course to flow
My heart has decided for herself what to do
And I'll not argue she knows she wants you
In the process she's set me free from the fears
And she's waved goodbye forever to lonely tears

Marsha

Rise and fly with the fire of determination and passion trailing behind your wings to give you lift.  Wonderful write my friend.

Can I keep this??

This is something I need to tack to my fridge as words to live by...

Awesome!!!

Marsh, this is absolutely lovely   reminds me of a book I read, "Child of the Phoenix" by Barbara Erskine.

A very uplifting read

Slushy, Mushy,
I bow to the master (or in your case the mistress) of poetry. You've painted the Pheonix rising perfectly. How beautiful!!!
Write on, with song

LL, thank you so very much love, this started with just a couple of words from Kethry. See how dangerous it is to give me too many words, I just soak them all up and crank out another scribble. Although I quite like this Phoenix idea, I can see a few around me here. So what collective noun would that be, a blaze of Phoenixes, a glory of Phoenixes, maybe a phalanx. Well, please enlighten me someone. Thank you again love

Kari love, thank you very very muchly. Now you'd probably know what is the correct collective noun love. You always answer my need, besides that's something else Persephone knew about, or was that Pegasus. It's possible I'm getting my myths and metaphors mixed. But while you're having a scroll through   thank you love

Take care kid

Dee love, I'm very fond of this one it was the start of my phoenix series. And the phoenix has now become my and my sisters of the phoenix official emblem. I think this is where I started to stretch a little.
Thank you so very muchly love. I'm getting there, and one day I'll be able to say with pride I can write. Not yet however, but one day. Not all of us have talent dear heart some of us have to get by on quantity not quality.
