Merry Christmas Merry Christmas, poets of the web Friends of silver phrases in the night Laid with grace upon the finger’s edge To print your imaged words in black and white May the season fill your heart with truth Inspiring the old symbolic quill To whisper past the lip and tongue and tooth The power of the thoughts that you instill May the peace that Christmas pleasures bring Flow through the colored thoughts of flowing inks Which make a cardinal spread a flashing wing And stars to glitter down in little blinks May the joy a Child brought to all Bring to your verses wonderment and light As that which from a humble stable stall Illuminated glory of the night May the season’s happiness adorn The pouring of your soul in verse and rhyme And may the words so genuinely born Endure in splendor for the rest of time Elizabeth Santos |
