Crystal Goblet

Fractured was the crystal sphere
The prism glass of yesteryear
Within a fine transparent dome
I placed my heart and called it home

I walked the path down glassy halls
Within a bubble’s shining walls
And laid my trust upon the hold
Of gaffer’s hand to choose the mold

So fragile were those youthful days
Within a shell of polished glaze
So innocent the crystal world
That shattered when the truth unfurled

A million pieces left to make
A new formed cast with my mistake
Enhanced with silica most fine
And etched by hand of my design

The light of life shines through the glass
Reflecting rainbows in it’s cast
Of all the past and present days
And looks at you in crystal gaze

Translucent chalice so unique
And wrought with woman’s own mystique
A goblet rare to touch the lip
And warmly held with every sip

Elizabeth Santos

Beautiful are your words. Life is like glass, if it cracks you can throw it away or do as you and see the beauty in hundreds of fine lines that tell a new story.

Lady Santos, you knew this would be one that I could see from far away, to come inside and say, I wish you the best for these holidays.  You are in my thoughts, my friend.  This is beautiful, and it shall grace my library with your brilliance.

Beautiful Liz. I think we're all, like glass, just a little bit fragile. Enjoyed this much

Marvelous Elizabeth! The crystal world of you as a youth that shattered with the truth of time...but here you are here again with the crystal rebuilt and able to look out through with an entirely new but saged point of view.
Simply wonderful writing as usual...have a nice holiday and realize that we're all thinking of you!!
