You send shivers up my spine
When each and every time
You lay touch upon my heart
How's the smile you’re wearing
Is it so gently tearing
Your façade of life apart

My paint on face is flaking
My brow is always aching
From your love to dig right in
My disguise burns away
You despise yet turn to say
The party may now begin

I run and hide in corner
A man dons mask as mourner
So I plead no tears for me
He jumps and turns around
Now evil grin is found
Two sides of his mask I see

The room resounds of peals
"May my lover be revealed
So that I may have a chance"
The room gave way to me
Your look once set me free
Now I must give in and dance

The tears seen through the paint
This dance has bitter taint
That you wished to keep unknown
The feelings that you’ve had
That you are also sad
Now you see you're not alone

Walt~
It is so good to see you stretching ...

'You lay touch upon my heart'
more and more with your writing.

Such variety is to be admired - and so I do.

Hey Walt I agree with them ...this is a sad one. However the emotion falls into the beauty of some sadness, I hope I don't sound redundant with that statement...keep the chin up my man I always enjoy your stuff!!
