Why? Virginia Salter I wanted to cry for you but my tears were naught but ashes I wanted to sing of you but you gave me fifty lashes I wanted to spend the night praying but my mind was filled with woe Why did you have to leave tell me why did you go? © October 21, 2000 |

i appreciated this short intense read...sometimes when you are in pain, you certainly dont feel like writing much and this poem reflects that feeling |

Thanks, both of you. I do have to admit this is not autobiographical. I did lose in a relationship many years ago, but these remarks are purely conjured. Think I've felt a semblance of the feelings, though. |

Glad to know that you are not going through this right now. Very powerful write from you and the anquish is quite visibal. Well done in showing the emotions. A life with love will have some thorns, but a life without love will have no roses. author unknown |
