The Mouse Before Christmas

It was the night before Christmas and all thru the house
the only creature stirring was...a mouse.
The gifts were all placed under the tree.
I was sleeping real good til the mouse awakened me.
I got out of bed quick as a wink.
I turned on the light and the mouse stood up and blinked.
He was caught in the act opening a gift.
Somehow that mouse thought that gift was his.
I proceeded to chase that mouse all around the house
for a minute or two.
Finally I caught him and stuck him in my shoe.
He seemed quite tame as he peeked out every now and than
wondering why I was ruining this Christmas night for him.
It was than that I noticed the present he had nibbled upon was not one I placed under the tree.
I picked it up and noticed it definately was not a gift meant for me.
I read the tag and to my surprise
it read To: Mouse  from:  Santa.
I could barely believe my eyes.
I opened it up and to this mouse's delight
it was a large block of tender cheese
perfectly sliced.
So mouse got his cheese and we ate every bite.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Jameslee@December17,2000
Hope one and all have a
very Merry Christmas.
