"And Then..." shadows linger around me as the dark night continues on memories of you and i play over inside my head people say we shouldn't be together they really don't understand the pain i feel in my heart i simply can no longer bare we should be together not me here and you there ebony night closes around me as despair fills my heart thinking what ever shall i do if we should fall apart your parents hate me accusing me of ruining their lives their remarks are cruel and hurtful cutting like a thousand knives my parents are patient and try their best to be there for me but even they don't really understand it's like no one but us can see i'd rather spend one day with you and then for us to crumble and fall than to have never known your love and the beauty of it all i feel inside my soul that you and i are meant to be the day you and i professed our love was the day my soul was set free the rain pours outside my window as the cold of winter chills me to the bone i'm just so damn tired of feeling all alone and then... bright light fills the room a voice i know so well speaks in soft tones the same voice that once filled my happy home and she says... daughter of mine don't cry as angel wings hug me and she kindly dries my eyes maybe this is just a dream another way for me to grieve but for a moment in time i truly do believe there are angels who watch over us they are with us everyday and though you can not see them those angels are here to stay so now my frown temporarily has been replaced with a knowing smile and my pain and burden lifted if only for a little while multide of colors flashed before my eyes and then she was gone but a feather of her wing was left to remind me i'm not alone ~amy m. kennedy~ |

Amy love, this is beautiful it really is. It's written with your true love, your heart and your soul are in this. And yes she was there, she really was love, she held you then as she did before when you needed her. Remember look to the light keep your chin up and know that your true love and you will one day be together. And when it happens then nothing will ever take you away from each other again. While she is in your heart she is there. It is beautiful! The feelings just jumped off of the 'page' and straight into my heart. There is no other way to describe it. But, excellent, excellent work, my friend. And, yes, your 'angel' is always watching you and keeping you safe. You heard the painful news today As our eyes connected across the room...they said all you could not say And I knew as I was standing there That you had lost your father today The tears streamed down your face As I slowly reached out my hand Trying as hard as I could To convey that I truly understand You pushed me away in anger But I am not mad at you I only wish I could have said more That there was more that I could do Your dad is with my mom now As she hugs him with wings of gold Just as I'll be there to hold you Whenever you shall get tired and cold When my mom died It was like the wind was knocked out of me And I thought the pain and anger I felt Would last an eternity But I promise you that in time The pain begins to slowly ease And they are always here with us Their presence will never cease If ever you need a friend Or just someone to talk to Do not hesitate to call on me I'll be a friend that's forever true ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ a verse i wrote shortly after my mom died there's a stairway to heaven it's paved of the finest gold the love that radiates from that special place will keep you safe and warm even in the coldest cold that stairway to heaven can be followed by the stars in the sky and the trail can be traveled from the tears those they left behind cry that stairway heaven connects them to us until we can see them again they are loved and taken care of by the Lord above amys note: written for a special friend of mine. she lost her father today while we were at work. ~amy m. kennedy~ ~A true friend is one soul in two bodies~ |
