Love’s Star Flight

Wrapping myself
in the comforting velvet
of a warm summer’s night
I feel my soul begin to weave
magic and fantasy around me

Star dust drips upon me
falling from a shooting star
as it leaves a trail of brilliance
blazing across a cloudless
start filled sky

My spirit sings with joy
as the magic takes me
and I send a call
into the celestial heavens
for a steed with which to ride
among the distant stars

Answering my call
as I knew he would
for the winged horse
alighted with gentle quietness
before me folding back
his magnificent white wings
and waiting patiently for me

Climbing onto his powerful
bare back I signaled for him
to take me on a flight
and return me
for a short time
to the stars where I belong

With powerful wings
he launches us
and wraps me in more star dust
that my mortal body feel
only the beauty
of such a ride as this

With time now forgotten
in the joy of watching
worlds passing us
at tremendous speeds
I send my spirit into
the very heart of the stars
where I rejoice with the freedom
of wonder and awe
at the beauty my eyes behold

The winds of the cosmos
flows over me
with a coolness that caresses
my body as all my senses
spring to life to be reflected
in eyes that sparkle
with discovery and delight

My eyes alight on distant movement
that I know is not normally
present in the celestial heavens
in which my flight takes place

As we draw closer
I recognize another steed
as my own on flight such as I
in the magic of this starry realm
with a man mounted securely
on the winged horse’s back

I am drawn to his eyes
where I see passion
and love of the stars
reflected as they sparkle
with delight
at the adventure we share

Without a word our mystical
steeds a line with one another
and change course to a distant star
where I have never been before

Time stands still as we fly
past worlds without end
on a journey of the heart
and soul just beginning
to understand eternal love
and true fantasy
has brought us together
to share this Love’s Star Flight
where love has it’s beginning

What marvelous imagination! This is a love poem at the height of fantasy...very very creative!!
