“WHAT LOVE IS”

I ponder what love is, perhaps a meeting of the minds,
then why does my heart skip, when you’re near?
Should I ponder each, my mind and my heart,
to discover both happens,
whether or not you appear?

Why can’t I eat, I know my body must be hungry,
is it the way you look at me, when we’re intimate?
My brain feels like mush, my eyes only stare at yours,
concentration for me is nil,
my thoughts you captivate…

Can it be the beauty of you, and perhaps your tender smile,
that captured all of me, as I sit here and ponder more?
But I also wonder, about the twinkle in your eyes,
you’re aware, as it’s the ones you show me,
the ones I adore…

I feel all of these things, I still don’t know why,
my heart pounds too, it has a definite tone…
At times I truly feel, that it won’t stay where it belongs,
as it jumps all over the place,
having a mind of its own…

Whatever this thing called love is, it is so very strange,
I have feelings of emptiness, and I don’t have a clue…
I feel this way all over, not just in different places,
but I finally figured out why,
it’s all because of you…

No matter how long I sit here, with all of my thoughts,
I’ll never understand, how I’ve gone so amiss…
So I wait for someone to come along,
that can tell me,
all about,
“What Love Is”

Evening Interloper,

Yes, I believe you're right that love is whay one says when they are saying it. But as long as it comes from the softness of the heart. Or, in the way one looks at someone. Thanks for coming by.

Evening Victoria,

Love is a combinination, but who can figure it out? I'm perplexed with it!

Evening Lady Lightning,

I see that you are perhaps a new member. Welcome to Passions, from BC.

And thank you for the words from you about this writing. Glad that you liked it.

Evening Startime,
I am glad that you believe I know what love is, as I try to project that feeling in my writings. I accept your graciousness, and am honored with your kind words. Thank you Startime, and thanks for coming by to my humble place.

Evening Seymour,

And may I say Seymour, it is still a huge mystery to me, but isn't it grand?

Marge Tindal

Why thanks Marge, appreciate what you and Seymour said! Thanks again Marge, appreciate your thoughts.

Good evening SEA,

Ah hah, said BC, no need to figure it out! It is a great feeling as you say, and whom would want to be without it. But tell me,,

Bill

Everyone is trying to figure out what love is, only you have really put the perplexing subject in such fine verse.  There really isn't one good answer so I hope you don't have to wait too long.  If you need some munchies or a soda while you sit and wait, just give a whistle!

Good morning Ariana,

Perhaps everyone is trying to figure out what love is, but has anyone figured it out yet? Pheeeeet, pheeeet, can you hear the whistle? Thanks for dropping by.

Good morning Sven,

Perhaps you are right, but geez, it is so very perplexing. Nice to see you Sven.

Good morning Irish Rose,

Irish Rose, I believe that you have hit the nail on the head. I really never understood chemistry either, and perhaps that is the answer! Nice to see you once again.
