From Pain to Pleasure The pain that rises in my chest is so intense from a heart beating too fast in anticipation anxiety building a wall of denial never wanting to believe, never wanting to know that what was in total, is now but shredded pieces no longer a puzzle to be salvaged, but worn and jagged not fit to come together, as a whole again. The pain that reigns upon and tears my body so, is mysting the dreams of yesterday, blending a drink of todays and tomorrows, clouding, fogging the present, hoping a gentle hand will come, to walk me through the haze that obscures, shrouds me in such a puzzling way, that I carry this burden heavily on my heart. The pain that catches my breath, comes from thoughts standing in my shadow, pressing following my every movement, listening to the silence that surrounds me... the vibrations, a softness heard a whispering, that rocks me to sleep each night and kisses me awake each morning. The pain seen through eyes that are glossed by tears is seeking truth, a ray of light, of hope, to guide the way a glimmer of softened candlight, to warm the cold to dry the flow each night, when dark settles in to drift into a time when all hurt shall cease... and knowledge shall replace the pain with pleasure once again. ~Wynter "The worst prison would be a closed heart". ...Pope John Paul II |
