The Dawning

There comes the dawning of a brand new day
A time of hope and certainty of light
When heavy burdens seem to fade away
Destroyed in dark recesses of the night

Toward the opulence of sun we lean
And let our face adsorb the warming rays
Capturing the prophesy foreseen
That life would bring the light of better days

Weren't shadows of the night forbear of day?
And didn't a day precede the dark of night?
The blacks or whites of life always betray
What we determine next to be our plight

We cannot deem the time when pain will strike
Nor when the season comes to find a peace
Our joy is dawn's illuminating light
As moon tides ebb and flow and never cease

Entwinded are we in shades of black and white
And ever reaching for the coming light

Lady Santos, you had to know I would like this one so very much, that it would find a very, very special place in my library...

now, you knew that...didn't you...

Elizabeth, your wonderful spirit shines through this verse, we should all recognize the shadows and pray they are behind us as we reach further toward the light. Thank you for a beautiful poem this morning...

I find such comfort in these words this morn ...
thank you for that sweet poet of grace ...
those last two lines are poetic perfection and wisdom kissed.

Wonderful work Elizabeth! We do lean toward a positive outlook with each approaching day, even when we have troubles to contend with, that first morning light that pours through the window brings with it a resurgence of desire to absorb the activities of the day.
I just love this one too!!

Oh Lizzy...I can't find the words.

I can't.

It is...well...sigh. That's it - it is a sigh.

Oh, Elizabeth, this poem is so very beautiful, and true, and filled with wisdom!  If only I could put these things into words like you do!  God has given you such a gift with writing!

I pray for you and yours every day.

I'm going to keep a copy of this, if you don't mind.

Liz,

I have to agree with Severn.. there are just no words than can do this justice.  It's just .. beautiful.

"Entwinded are we in shades of black and white
And ever reaching for the coming light"

Just beautiful.
