Silent Sages Words so easy from the tongue Are soon forgotten, left behind Better is a song unsung Than one that doesn’t stir the mind Words of love by one who’s smitten Cherished well, but lost with age Poetry that’s purely written Lives forever on the page Fortunate are those whose spirit Shows itself through ink and pen Though the ear may never hear it Words define the silent friend Speechless phrases, muted ponder Plucked like strains upon a harp Hymns of love and thoughts of wonder Pour so gently from the heart Never heard, yet filled with lyrics Never sung, these melodies Only written by the spirit Only read, the heart to please How I love those silent sages Strumming fine poetic words Music floats from off the pages Like the song of morning birds Elizabeth Santos |

Indeed, indeed, and you are one of the bluebirds of life... thank you Lady Elizabeth... Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

Exquisite Liz ... the flow in this beautiful piece is simply melodic, and touches me as sweetly as you, yourself describe in this wonderful poem. I couldn't describe my appreciation better, than if I used your own words ... "Fortunate are those whose spirit Shows itself through ink and pen Though the ear may never hear it Words define the silent friend" "Speechless phrases, muted ponder Plucked like strains upon a harp Hymns of love and thoughts of wonder Pour so gently from the heart" I so admire your writing Liz, this is beautiful. ![]() Best wishes and hugs to you my friend, /Kit |

Most of our poetry is lyrical isn't it? Elizabeth, this one shows a heart full of music and a touch for the words and it flowed so beautifully, I wish I could think of a better word to describe it, but it is just beautiful. What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life. Walt Whitman |

I couldn't agree more Liz, and yours is one of many that I love to listen too. You've said it beautifully and smoothly, as always. ![]() ~Sheri "The things that come to those that wait may be the things left by those who got there first" |

Well here I am dear, I haven't been able to find words for you yet... This work holds so much emptyness... I believe I'm going to have to give away a word that I only use for Rosemary and that word is "Darling" and you surely deserve it... I hear echoing through this beautifully worded poem, a clear and poignant sorrow, and hollowness - the haunting melody touches me in the deepest places, and my heart reaches out to you, my dear friend. |
