And when you paint me

do not ever treat me
as Picasso did
for I will never be
a straight line
intersecting with lines and,
no, never will I be
a line for life-long misery

should I apologize for
a true artists' art….

no

but I would have not imparted
once! a "thank you, that's fine"
to such an unruly line
of distortion
when distortion of grief
is enough
to render a wretched cry
with no ever need to ask
"why?"

God, I do not think
for once
or ever more
that is how I would
leave a door
unspoken

but if you were to
paint me
please be kind
and paint my mind
one that
never heeds
me

because from you
who
saw the light
in
me

********

right now, I wish you were there…
I have seen marvelous sights
winsome balloons gone on to heights
a child come into my care
I've gone beyond
where you've not dared

I have seen some marvelous thrills
and have planted some wondrous hills
I have seen a rainbow's flight

and

I have gone
into the night

you would not be
proud of me
for I have not become
history

but what I will do
for you and me

has become a bit of memory….

but only in your soul, you see……

Karilea--I can't begin to say properly how much this poem moved me...I can only say, to tears.

you haven't become history?? Don't be so sure, sunshine..writers are immortal and will live as long as their poetry exists. As far as painting you....only upon Rembrandt's resurrection

Kari, psst got any use for some perfects that fell off the back of a lorry   Going cheap they are, to you missus, 'cause I like you, I'll knock them out for a smile apiece. How about it love! (All said with a cockney accent,) Not that I can actually do a cockney accent, but never mind!
Beautiful work love, wonderful and you do have such a gift.
Love this one even more.
Take care

You present many paths of insight into self and as corrollary All.

This one of the most impressive pieces I have encountered thus far.

My compliments. on a very compelling piece.

you will be painted - poster colors that wash off   but not before the paints have left their mark - on a broad canvas rivaling the Titians and Rembrants  - no one-eyed Picassos for you. You are so good - each work of yours impresses me more than the last

Mr. Yeats...never cared for the one-eyed Picassos...but there was a lot of his other stuff that impressed me...but I do have to admit, I like the stories behind the art...funny that poets tell the story up front, and let the art come within the mind...

Aimster, little one...never have one favorite...it stales much too fast...pick lots and lots from scores and scores of poets...and you will then SING....hugs...
