Love's Mountain Cave © Karen Torbiak 2000 Leena stands at the opening to the cave and breathes in the crisp, coolness of the mountain air and expels it into frosty mist with a sigh Gazing out on the vastness of mountains covered with the beauty of new fallen snow, her eyes take on a sparkle of delight The sun is high in the sky and shines with brilliance upon the snow making it glisten with a magic that is seldom known Mountains in majestic splendor raise all around her in this world she has ever called her home and she sighs with the freedom of it Her heart speeds up as she thinks what today will bring as she takes flight to a far of land in quest for him who has touched her heart Leena glances up to a crag far above and sends her thoughts to touch Sheel who is connected with her for life to make sure Sheel is ready An answering warmth fills her mind as she is told all is prepared for the wonderful trip into the world of man that they are to take She returns to the warm depths of the cave to get the cloak she will need as she moves through the cold laden air It is large to be wrapped around two bodies on the return to the frozen heights of her cave set in these ancient mountains Running her hands lovingly over the softness of the white fur she sighs with contentment for she knows that soon she be loved Sending for a thought of call Leena returns to the entrance of the cave and listens to the sounds coming from above as Sheel comes forth to her summons A flash of gold brings a smile of pride to her face as she glories in the approach of the most majestic of dragons, Sheel, the golden one Sheel lands softly before her and extend a forarm to assist in mounting upon the magnificent golden back of this dragon who shares heart and thought with her Planned well, there is no need for directions as Sheel launches herself to soar high above the mountains, leaving behind the protection they offer to wing south Wrapped in the fur Leena hardly feels the cold bite of the thin air that is flowing around her as the speed at which they travel increases She closes her eyes and pictures in her mind the location of her heart's desire so that Sheen can easily find exactly where they should go Leena feels goose bumps forming as she lets herself dream of him who she has learned to know and love but they are not of cold but of excitement as they draw closer The time passes with amazing speed and they are soon circling this more southern place making ready to land as Leena searches for a way to do so undetected Her mind being well trained she casts forth a call to he who has won the heart of this woman from a part of the world long forgotten and now left to the fantasies of man She feels his returning call as she spots a deserted alley not far from him and sends to him that he meet her there and gives direction for Sheen to land quickly Leena sees him advancing with a somewhat puzzled look upon his face that lights with excitement as he sees before him a glorious dragon mounted by a woman with glowing eyes of love As she tells him to mount in front of her he informs her that he thought she was just someone he had made up in his dreams and is still wondering if she is truly real Once he is settled she wraps them both in the warmth of the cloak and signals Sheen to take flight and head for home with all speed as she would be with this man she loves Leena slides her hands around him moving close and laying her cheek to his back absorbing the wonderful heat of his strength and smelling the sweet manly scent of him until now not known Wrapped safely in her arms they soar high above the clouds and she lets out a giggle of delight as she feels the wonder of it all filling this man who has come to mean so much to her Within a twinkling it seems they are above the magical mountains of her home and she is pleased to feel the awe and wonder fill him as the soar quickly to the entrance of her home After alighting Leena sends Sheen, with much love and gratitude, to her cave and turning to him sees the questions in his eyes that will all need to be answered but first to her home Taking him by the hand she leads him deep within the cave to the very back, where with the touch of her hand the mountain wall moves silently open to reveal what would astound an amaze mankind There in a sunlit valley lays a land of magic long forgotten where even from this height can be seen elves and fairies at play while unicorns splash in crystal water falls He turns to her with eyes now shining with the light of love she has dreamed of seeing in them and pulls her into his arms as he accepts the gift offered to be one with her He pulls her close, bending to take her soft lips with his own as two hearts begin to beat as one in this magical, mystical land found through Love's Mountain Cave Love I leave with you my friend whether it be in your life or of yet the essense of your dreams. http://path2riches.com |

Wow! Karen I don't know why you aren't writing fantasy books especially for older children and I am in no way undermining your maturity because I know you and I know this material pours out of you freely and that you lose yourself in it when you write. There is a gift here that needs to be nurtured into channels where it will help others learn to create...anyway beyond that I always enjoy your powerful imagination...take care ethome |

Karen, I have to agree with ethome on this one. You have a rare talent that surely needs to see the hard bound coverings of some novels. This held me all the way through the entire story and I found myself holding my breath at times. This one goes in my library for sure. A life with love will have some thorns, but a life without love will have no roses. author unknown |
