... INTO THE LIGHT < !signature-->Darkness drapes his arms around me In the silence of the night. Where I once stood upon the realm Of virtues far beyond this call. But, lo, the dreams of fools shall be! Their sorrow-laden minds, so trite, Would dubiously overwhelm The winged ones in light of their fall. Where smiles of even graceless Gods Could never aid them in their plight, As all are one with wickedness And wickedness their sole recourse... As Time-washed hands display the odds, Spread evenly, and bring to light Their pagan gifts: insipidness, Lust, vanity, and feigned remorse. Yet, on my back, they stand above, And it's their voices I must heed... Their filthy hands like instruments They've polished just to break my will. What stateliness a latex glove Must hone to one given to bleed, As Dignity with Pride laments All hope in me they now distill... As all about is as a tomb While Shadow comes to claim my sight, And what could be of better use As, paralyzed, I drift away. Let not the Agonies presume To find an answer in the light, But watch, instead, Darkness deduce Any reason for me to stay. Michael Anderson But dreams of those who dream as I, Aspiringly, are damned and die. EAP [This message has been edited by Michael (edited 12-05-2000).] |

Your words wrapped themselves around my heart...there is so much that I relate to yet much that I never could...Your writing leaves me lack for the proper words...just know that you have touched a heart with what you wove. Hugs to you sweet Michael~ The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched ---- they must be felt with the heart~ *??* |

( your making me work first thing this morn huh?) ahhhh thy prince of darkeness ... your thorny crown of dark metaphors is well earned in this awe inspiring shadowed purge. "And dubiously overwhelm The winged ones in light of their fall. Where smiles of even graceless Gods Would never come to aid their plight," what an amazing couple of lines those are M. what an amazing gift you have ever grateful am I that I get to experience your grace. take care poet of the night, poet in the light. love to ya jm I looked into the sky for my anthem The words and music came through But words and music can never touch the beauty that I've seen Looking into you |

Micheal, This piece, as all of your poetry, is touching, polished, and elegantly written. Kris All good poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings...~William Wordsworth |

Butterflies_dont_cry, there is much to what I write I wouldn't expect any to relate to, and hope they never will for that matter. I am glad you enjoy the parts you do relate to all the same... Janet, Uh, I'm afraid I was left in the Dark a little too long on this one, perhaps. If you find some "light" in here anywhere, be sure and let me know, ok? warmhrt, Sy, & Victoria, I'm glad you enjoyed the read. Thank you all for your kind replies. Michael |

I am glad you have returned. There was a light and it brought you back from the darkness. Stay in the light we need you. |

An absolutely classic Michael, my dear. One wonders if I should be worried that my lover is writing such dark poetry when I endeavour endlessly to keep him happy ... somehow, though, I feel as though there are some demons that I will never be able to extricate. I shall instead promise to love you as you are, Darkness included. --Linda Remember: maintaining a positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will certainly annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. |

Michael, Wonderful writing my friend. Even in darkness, there is a hint of light that shines brilliantly. This is it. I am glad you are doing well. LW Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

"As all about is as a tomb While Shadow comes to claim my sight, And what could be of better use As, paralyzed, I drift away." You've described a feeling I've thought was indescribable Michael (even though I may be reading something very different than what was intended). You've taken me back to the table, to thoughts as you drift away under the cloak of anaesthetic, paralized and drifting toward the darkness ... amazing writing ... incredible description! Best wishes, /Kit |

So wonderful to see your post. May God strengthen you and continue to bless you in verse and all other ways! What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life. Walt Whitman |

inot2B, well, I would love to "stay" in the light my friend, but unfortunately, the lights referred to here were hospital surgery lamps above my head... couldn't get out of there fast enough!!!... LOL Linda, that you have brought SO much happiness to a man such as me, given my dark disposition, is not a feat one should downplay in the least. Indeed, it would seem some demons are inherent to my nature, but even they don't seem to grasp me so often or hold as tight anymore. Loving me as I am is all I never thought anyone could do... A gift I will never be able to thank you for enough. Lonewolf, I'm glad you enjoyed the read... Nan, the reason I hide in the Dark is because that's the only place my poetry can be viewed as some sort of light, I might think at times... Kit, you scare me sometimes with how accurately you can pinpoint the meanings of my verse. This was, indeed, about being on the operating table and going under... Irish Rose, thank you for your blessing... God has truly blessed me and continues to strengthen me everyday. Amy - my head spun there for a second...LOL I was wondering where I might know a "Sweet 'n Sexy 18" from... Indeed, the Dark holds a beauty all her own, doen't she. Thank you dear, for the compliment. Hope all is well with you. Thank you all for the kind words... Michael |
