Here's a simple little scribble, written on the spot to keep my creative juices flowing. With Christmas coming too quickly, I haven't had time to sit and write, so I made myself.  


Once upon a time ago
I was a heartless wench
who ran and drank and cared
little about the world.

I made my promises to be
forever free, and lived
loose and wild and careless
then it all changed.

A part of me seperated and
the seed of life took root
Inside my body I could feel
a wonderful magic blooming.

The wild music of what used to be
died down to a soft lullabye
as I held him in my arms and
marvelled at his beauty.

There are days I sit back
and wonder what would have
become of me, if I had stayed
within the waves of immaturity.

But I never regret, no not ever
for now I have two, and I sit and
watch as they grow from babies
to boys, and wait til they grow to men.

And I know with every part of my
heart that there is no greater love,
there is no other love, that can
minimize this that I feel.

And I, who once upon a time
thought that I would love no one.
And allow no one to love me.
