Breath fled my tired lungs the day you said
I was the one God put here just for you
Behind me was the path which I had tred
As doubt belittled all the hope that grew

Fear chases me to hide my weary heart
For love has always been a mystery
Hurt left its trail of tears upon my start
Your words a sad familiarity

Forgive me if I’m hesitant to stand
Pain has had its share it seems
Changing what I held in hand
Into a déjà vu of shattered dreams

Written once in prose or rhymes
Questions rise how will I know it’s true?
Uttered ten million different times
If you’re the one how will I know it’s you?

We’ve known each other for a little while
Desertion whispers words inside my head
You are the one who healed my broken smile
Yet pessimistic disillusions rise instead

I pray for boldness everyday I live
To seize upon the things I know are true
To follow the motion His hand will give
Directing me, I fell in love with you

This is so full of honesty and truth.
Falling in love can be quite scary. I
speak from experience. But sometimes we
must take the risk to experience the joy.
