A Small Gift you may sit right over there take up that four legged chair put the banjo in your lap strum me a high flung song make my flying fingers snap play it fast or play it slow play it high or play it low strum it happy, or glide it sad but know that no one ever had my heart like you do now bring the angels to the string let them dance in merry ring see the happiness that you bring with the banjo on your knee when you play for them and me and when time comes as it shall when Joe says his goodnight to Sal when candles bright fall to the dim and moonlight hangs low on rim remember this gift from Him for all the treasures of the day came in the banjo that you played Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

Kari, none of you poems are a small gift, they are priceless gems that fill these pages with love, wisdom and light. This is no exception it is beautiful and wonderful, and yes I love it too. Take care Majestic Marsha Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |

You, fine lady, are no "small gift." Live for love. Without love, you don't live. |

Special gift here Sunshine. Sometimes, words alone just aren't enough. Nice writing. LW Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

Isn't it amazing how music can go straight to the heart and become a part of it? Speaking of gifts........you are. |

I could almost hear the instrument playing in the background, sometimes soft and gentle, at other times with great gusto and abandon. Fine poetry, fluid in movement and depth in verse. Wishmaster. ~ You cannot be what you want to be if you do not know who you are ~ |
