Birth Of A Season |

The seasons begin to change As we enter a colder range Temperatures start to fall Winds turn into a squall The trees slowly turn Their leaves will burn From a deep green To the brightest orange I've seen Some will become red Or a fiery yellow instead Before they all get blown To distant places unknown They'll be replaced in the spring As the birds return to sing A beautiful new melodic song That will last all season long Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats [This message has been edited by Lone Wolf (edited 10-08-2000).] |

oooo...what a very pretty poem! i like the burning metaphor...the levels! i love the levels! it works on so many! and it's very hopeful at the end. lovely indeed. great stuff. I am reminded of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "I drank what?" |
