The music seems so far away, But the tune Is playing directly into my ear. The notes are unrecognizable, But they are written out plainly On this page. I know what I must do, But sentimentality holds me from it. I open my mouth To bid farewell, But I am seduced By visions of your hands. I always knew you were mine, But The One whom I trusted most Turned his back And walked into the arms Of another. I never needed someone Quite so badly. At that moment, I would have sacrificed Self-respect for affection. I deserve much more; Your love is not sufficient. Yet, I couldn’t let you go No matter what I try. My heart is worth Much more than this; You could never love it right. But, for some obscure reason, You’ll be the one I try to please. Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these: 'it might have been.' -John Greenleaf Whittier |

And hopefully he will grow to finally see the dedication from you to stick to your commitment to love and accepting less than you truely deserve. It is never easy to see someone suffer in lonely silence and I sincerely hope that you will find your time to really be loved. |
