there's an emptiness i feel inside
where my self-destructive thoughts use to hide

such a strange void where hurt use to be
now, just a hollowness inside of me

a welcome change, but strangely, i feel lost
yet no longer can i afford what they cost

so many years they'd been around
creating me, then tearing me down

what is to come in pain's place
what kind of challenges will i face

tomorrow is but a dream that never comes
or so it seems

today is now
i can but try

to get through each hour as it passes by

Wonderful first poem for Passions!  Welcome!  I hope to see much more from you in the near future.

Hey, and welcome to passoins.  Here is a word of advice from the not so wise, "Carpe Diem"  thats supposed to be latin by the way.  It means cease the day.  So go out and make this day yours.

Keith W. Mullin

Even in the darkest night, someone will be there holding a candle for you.

Der Keit  i have recently learned not to try to change the past, but live each day as it comes.  it isn't easy, but no one ever said life was easy. thanks for the comments

WOW!!!!!
You have conveyed the words that evaded me!!
This is how I feel too, for many, many reasons.
Just keep hanging on and maybe thoes feeling will be replaced in the near future.
My Dad use to say..."The sun doesn't't shine in one dogs butt all the time. If the dog doesn't move, the sun will!"
Sorta gives me hope...;-)

If you can't make it so,
you need to let it go!

Welcome to Passions! This poem hit me square
in the teeth...so much that I can relate to
that I just want to reach out and hug ya...I
hope you find the healing that is here
within the "walls" of Passions and the
freedom you can find in writing the pain
out.  You have made an excellent start and
while it hurts at first to look at it all
and write it down...pretty soon it goes hand
in hand and then you can set it free.  Sorry
to be so long winded but you really reached
out in this piece...Great work!!!!!!

You mean to say that you kept this wonderful poem from us for an extra two weeks...... because of nerves?
Well, a warm welcome to Passions, and I thoroughly enjoyed your first poem.  It has a power and simplicity that conveys the pain and hope so clearly.
Thank you for sharing it with us.
And next time: Be stwong and berry cuwageous.... (Elmur Fudd impression...
See ya around,

Welcome to Passions!

There's a place here for joy, pain and
every emotion you can reveal and many do.
It's a place for expression and we're glad to have you!

Live life to the fullest everyday and never let anyone ever steal your dreams.  Welcome to Passions.  You will love it hear.

bebo great poem, so filled with emotions and I can feel what your saying so many times we all feel this void and wander why can't we fill it and just go on but we must strive to fill this void that's what keeps us going from day to day, no one can have a empty hollow soul we must strive to be
