Growing Older It is with grace and pleasure That I add another year For love grows ever stonger And our loved ones ever dear Life is much more savored Each day is wrapped in gold As I recall accomplishments Through trials of the soul The air somehow is sweeter now Passion more intense For love has come to realize The joys of every sense If I had recognized in youth The secrets I have learned Perhaps I’d not accomplished The pleasures I have earned Let the youthful have their dreams And let them think they know All about life’s footsteps In which they’ll surely grow So here’s a toast to golden years And don’t forget the truth It’s not the years, but mileage Since wild days of youth And mileage has brought our love To such a wondrous place And passion to perfection And that’s why I age with grace Elizabeth Santos |

Breaking in love through road trials and tests.....what a wonderful inspirational verse from you this morning. Shows that when there is love there not to give up on it but to hold onto it and you will make it through the rough spots and be better and stronger for it. Beautiful |

"If I had recognized in youth The secrets I have learned Perhaps I’d not accomplished The pleasures I have earned" What a wonderful message Liz ... written with the grace and sincerity of one who surely has lived these words. Similar thoughts me twin ... Best wishes, /Kit |

Elizabeth, You captured the mental grace But left out the physical trace. Your poetry is devine. Love Sy |

Simply beautiful Liz. Today is our 29th anniversary, and I'd like to print this out and give it to my husband, if you don't mind. I could never write anything as lovely to share with him. Your words always seem to capture the very essence of what's inside. Thank you. Bonnie |

Hi Liz, The golden years, you have grown so beautifully in wisdom and grace and insight can be seen through out your poetry in every rhyme you pen has your love for life weaved through and through. Too much of my mileage was acquired on rough, unpaved roads.... and it shows. *G* Loved this! |

Your not getting older - you're getting better (not original - but most appropriate JMHO) |

Really good writing. True wisdom can only come from age and time. I liked this much! Deb |
