Balladeer came home tired from his day at work
All his duties he performed, not one task did he shirk
He came home to his lovely wife she looked at him in alarm
For his blue eyes were flat and cold, his spirit had lost its charm

Oh No thought his lovely wife he must be mad at me
I wonder what I could have done, now just what could it be
Are you okay, his wife said, is everything alright?
Balladeer just sighed and batted blue eyes bright

His wife, she snuggled closer, determined now to find
What she'd done to Balladeer and what was on his mind
She gave a hint of promise, then tried him to endear
She smiled at him so coyly, it filled him up with cheer.

Balladeer smiled softly, but still said not a word
His wife moved to discover why he was acting so absurd
She kissed his neck so gently, then she stroked his chin
She licked his rounded earlobe, and rubbed his hairy skin

Whatever it is I'm sorry, what can I do to make amends?
Balladeer breathed slowly he did not want this dream to end.
She ran her soothing fingers o'er his body taut
then began to make amends, for the crime she knew she wrought

She gently, soft  caressed him, lit his flame and when
she had driven him to the peak, she started once again
Now Balladeer lay sated among the tangled sheet
"I should come home tired more often, when the outcome is so sweet"

but it is the loss that shapes the image,

I loved this tale. Great poetry. I loved the ending. I wonder why no one replied?

Kethry-Please accept my apology as I read this earlier and never replied but had intended to and Xeonox, thank you for bumping this as a reminder.  This is way cool and a sweet tribute to one so "deer" to us all and yes even us men find him to be a true gentleman.  Excellent piece from you...glad I didn't miss my opportunity to reply to it.(my brain is a mess these days as you saw with the tadpole, worm, snail, termite, and such thingy earlier)LOL

Hey, Kethry, this is a great idea! Normally when I come home full of fire, she has a headache. Maybe, if I'm the one with the headache, I can get a little pampering out of it..now, if only I could find someone to show her how to pamper me....you busy???

Balladeer, Busy... Hmmm let me think...
If you're at all interested Lohn John is guilty of inciting this one. It was a shared joke that he "bludgeoned" me into turning into a poem. So don't shoot the messenger Ok!

Kethry: This may have LJA's fingerprints on it... but you answered his request well. *S* (Now be careful... there's no telling WHAT that sailor will ask! LOL. This time, a poem... next time... well, I shudder to think of it. LOL)

Suthern,
Well LJ can ask... *G*

LJA, Thanks for the response. Were you next in the queue? Thanks for reminding me it might not be cause and effect thing here I was thinking it was because think differently from men.

Paula thanks, glad it made you laugh out loud.

Kethry.
