The Waterfall Beneath the calm blue sky she sits Her backbone made of solid rock That has embraced the passing centuries. She beckons, with the voice of sweeping waters To all who would come and appreciate her beauty. In her vibrant presence, time stands still. Her magnetism creating an aura of wholeness, And her invitation to ponder on her story, From what depths, has she arrived? To sit among us and delight us with her glory. The tall green trees stand strong and firm, Nourished on the banquet she provides. What unseen life does she hold in her womb? As she mothers and caresses, The one who has time to succumb? Are the stories she tells in silence? Written on her heart or the heart of the seer? Is her forever the same as my forever? Can the serenity and tranquility she offers Be found anywhere else on this planet? As I sit here in her company, I am captured by her awesome majesty. I am allowed a peep of eternity and realize Like her trees, rocks, plants and hidden life, She has put on a magnificent feast, That tastes, not on my taste buds But deep down in a place I call my soul. |
