Packed my bags on Sunday morning. Stepped into the cool autumn dawn. Heard a bird softly singing. Closed my eyes and I was gone. On the highway that leads to heaven. Where the white lines go on forever. I’m heading off to nowhere, Blinded by the lights of fools that just don’t care. Another town, just a different name. Same old scenes, same old games. Just another love, to pass the time. Just one more kiss, then I’ll say goodbye. It’s a long way home. When you’re on your own. It’s a long way home. Packed my bags on Sunday morning. Stepped into the cool autumn dawn. Heard a church bell softly ringing. Closed my eyes and I was home. [This message has been edited by Ron K. Fox (edited 11-07-2000).] |

Ron - This is a stunning poem, so visual, so heartfelt. I loved it. Azure "I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much" - Sandra Cisneros |

I loved the whole poem, though sad, these lines really grabbed me...... Greeneyes "Within you I lose myself Without you I find myself Wanting to be lost again." -Unknown |

I loved this ... ---------------- Packed my bags on Sunday morning. Stepped into the cool autumn dawn. Heard a bird softly singing. Closed my eyes and I was gone. ---------------- Ron, the lure of the open road sounds wonderful right about now. Luckily most of us have a home to go back to when travel tires us. Great write. Dee I wish you every happiness and pray you'll always have the best of the good things in life. a brand |

The road always seems inviting until you're wanting to go home. I enjoyed this, and again, am shaking my head in awe of your ability. Very nicely wrought. Rainydays |
