The bird on the ground opened its eyes: One eye showed pavement, the other the sky. Near a grate full of litter from those who'd passed by. The bird did not think, did not roll its eye Madly in search of an answer to why Today was the day it was going to die. It didn't sigh. It didn't cry with tears of self-pity, or try To break away from the beauty just to lie Along the foot of the clouds' home way up high. The last thing the bird saw was the sky And the pavement -- the pebbles, shadows like dye Running through the me and you in you and I. Goodbye. |

~This may be one of the first times that I've visited you,...and I'm really enjoying your voice here. This piece is so real,...it's sad. You portrayed this in a perfectly poetic way, a touching and grabbing at you sort of way. I'm so glad I came by, I'll be back thank you. Take care. *Peace. |
