To Many

They slogan me with tear and cheer
And often with a glass of beer.
Some in laughter some in pain
All of which drives me insane.

They rap me on the back and roar
The bore of wish with many more.
Take me back to past gusto
Where once it really happened so.

The count is much to much in store
I can't surmount too many more.
It's something that I must confess
To many bless are not a bless.

Each one takes one away you see
And leaves a little less of me.
And I would rather not they say
Happy birthday and bless this day.

I'd rather not the age remind
I'd rather not they be so kind.

You are only as old as you feel. Just a darn shame some of us feel so much older that our years. Bless you and hope you have many more years.

LOL Sey - while I'm not at the point of empathizing, I think I can still understand a bit.

Peace

Seymour~

I have a wish
that I could make
To take one candle
off your cake

Removing one
each and every year
Would give you
reason enough to cheer

As the years
quickly descend
You'd soon be
a darling baby again

Hello BABY !

If only ... eh?
Love you ...

Happy Birthday, friend of mine
Another year of vintage wine
Another candle's glowing bight
Adding to your spirit's light
Another year to wisdom's sage
The wine gets much more smooth with age
I'll have a glass of this fine brew
And make a toast of friendship too
Love
Liz

To all my wonderful friends above, It was a fun poem and I enjoyed all your reactions. I like Margies idea the best taking one year off each year under those conditions I'd start celebrating right now. LOL Once again thanks again for the great comments.

I Know You Not...A Birthday Wish

Strangely enough I have come by my friends,
not the "normal" way I don't think.
By word of mouth or a poem I wrote,
or a curiosity of others to drink,
And soak up the knowledge of persons on here.
But whatever the reason that be,
I found they are special and touch many hearts,
Their words often comforting me.
Here's wishing the best of a Birthday to you.
Age doesn't mean a thing.
It's the words that are written, the spirit enjoyed,
the warmth that your words can bring.

Sometimes our birthdays are simply opportunities for other folks to let us know how special we are to them. Sounds as if that's what these fine friends of yours are doing here, Mr. T.

A wonderful poem.
