Missing You

When you lose a friend
you also lose a part of you.
The part that reached out to give
and their desire to reach back to you.
I don't know where old friendships go.
I don't know the reason's why.
All I know is I love to see a friendship grow
and I hate to see a friendship go.
Yet who am I to stop a friend
when they have decided to say goodbye
feeling this is where the friendship ends
while sorry they can't tell you exactly why.
And now they will be leaving me with an empty heart
as they leave me wondering why
and they leave me with a perfectly good reason
to miss her as I break down and cry.

James lovely write, I do hope this isn't anything to do with you and your love. If it is then you have my sympathy, and if not then I'm very happy for you. As usual James this is so true, and honest.
I relly like this one

"When you lose a friend

Oh so well said, and so very true!!!  I think that nothing hurts worse than to lose someone that you care for...and not know why...

this touched me deeply.

Wonderful thoughts James ... it amazing how sometimes friendships slip away without even realizing. What a joy when years later, they are sometimes resurrected though. Hugs to you for this tender and thoughtful piece!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Oh, James, all the way through, each line became sadder and sadder, and then your last line just reduced me to tears.

(sigh) good writing, but gosh I'm sorry.

Very heartbreaking write, James.  But, beautifully written.  I hope all works out well for you!
