I sat today and thought about- The man I used to be. The dreams I had, the plans, and such- When you were still with me. The laughter came so easily- You said you liked my smile... That’s something few have ever seen- At least, not for awhile. I wonder what it was that came Between us, bit by bit? And ate away the love we felt.. Until we called it quits? It robbed us of the peace we had, When we were close together. And finally proved a greater storm, Than we could hope to weather. I wonder, could it be the fact- I always longed to roam? You wanted friends, security... And most of all a home. Then finally we realized The magic was all gone... It was so hard to speak of love- There in our empty home. Till all we had were sad regrets- And lonely empty hearts- I said, “We’d better call it quits- Before the hatred starts”. Our paths still cross from time to time, We still dredge up a smile... The distance though is greater than- One measures in mere miles. "You come into this life crying, while the world rejoices. Your goal in life should be to live it in such a fashion, as to leave this world rejoicing, |

You make it look so easy Your easy going expression molded into perfect rhyme and meter And such natural, unforced phrasing I'd call this perfect Liz |

This is sad. It brings an ache just reading it. No doubt it was more than just an ache while living it. Nice flow to your poem...ALL of your poems. Take care, Gunslinger. ...chanson~ Music, tonal clear & pure, Caresses the harshest of curves. -Song of Gesture |
