The Jester and the Puppeteer

The jester and the puppeteer
Ply their trade and it's none too clear
They hold court and play their games
The lives they twist, never be the same

With talent and skill they do abound
Throughout the land they're of renown
See how they dance and entertain
They're highly sought, this their domain

Spells are cast within magic weave
But told by some only to deceive
Sing sweet lullabies, offer sweet refrain
Another hapless victim to be claimed

But one saw through their veiled disguise
Seen all too clear, the deceit and lies
Plays their game, knows it won't last long
Gives them the stage, they sing their song

One not smitten by such wily talent
That brave knight was far too gallant
With one fell swoop all knew he was able
As he laid their souls upon the table

Bared now to the light for all to see
No place to hide, nowhere to flee
Naked now, on their face it was clear
They now knew what it was to fear

The brave knight always seems to get there in the fairy tales doesn't he?  Wonderful words of inspiration especially with the play being set upon the stage of magical weaves and torments.

Mark.......With fairy tales and fantasy anything is possible I guess. Experience has shown me it is to be very different in the real world. As for the stage, well I seem to be stuck on this theme at the moment. Thanks for adding your comment!

Victoria......Thankyou, it was kind of inspired by a movie I used to watch often as a child, starring Danny Kaye I think. The story telling is something new for me, but fun.

EagleOne~
A very well told tale ...
Oh, such villanous characters taken down by the knight !
I like the stage setting for this form.
I sort of liken it to getting to see the theatre
from the cheap seats !
Enjoyed it very much.
