To Have a Dream So he said he could dream couldn’t he after the days of cheap wine and darned socks feeling the bite of snow from the hole the crack the piece of life that flew and hit him and made forever close at least he could still dream And I thought yes I suppose you can you can always dream dreams are not earthbound no gravity cements them but only you can keep them safe keep them from disconnect shine their impossible perfection You can even throw them away where they fold themselves on the wings of birds then find them again still hidden in the wooden planks of the board-walk dancing on delight in a gown of gossamer A sweet dream song is like an angel wing of imagining a dream of pure intent is the whale calling that stirs the nesting flowing pull making bubble explodes a dream of passion pulls then torments with wiles drenches sleep with perfume and rocks the smallest chamber that cushions love letting A dream is as diaphanous as breath yet as sure that it can build a castle stone by stone of river rock as it can whistle from a puckered five year old but oh when it touches the wrinkled waiting of a promise it whispers what hope is In the dew of little things, the heart finds its morning and is refreshed. Martie~ Gosh .... I just thought I knew what a dream was - Now I know and will stay awake all night looking for one ! 'You can even throw them away where they fold themselves on the wings of birds then find them again still hidden in the wooden planks of the board-walk dancing on delight in a gown of gossamer' 'A dream is as diaphanous as breath' 'but oh when it touches the wrinkled waiting of a promise it whispers what hope is' It just doesn't get better, does it ? Yeah ... knowing you ... it will ! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
