Ah, there’s a tavern, just in time- Methinks it’s like to freeze. I’d feign find me an ingle nook, Wi’ fireplace all a bleeze. The ‘ighland nights are passin’ cold- Especially in December- An inn, a dram, some ‘at to eat, An’ time, lad, to remember. Remember what? Dost dare to ask? Why, mates an’ loves I’ve known. An’ battles where I ‘ad me part- Alas, now all are gone. Ah, Kinnecock, an’ Bannockburn- Ainsley, to name a few… An’ many furrin fields and climes- An’ mates I’ve ‘ad so true. An’ winsome lassies, ah, Moirie- Diedre, and Kathleen- Scottish maids, an’ Irish, too- The fairest ever seen. An’ Duncan! Faith, now there’s a lad- Wi’ claymore, next to none. ‘e slew an honor guard to ‘ell- Afore ‘is day was done. An, Clancey, aye, I knew ‘im well- An ‘ighwayman so bold! ‘e’d ‘old the lords, and ladies up… Relieve them o’ their gold. Till Tim, the ‘ostler, them betrayed- For jealousy o’ Bess, The landlord’s black ‘aired daughter, Now the two repose in death. Some day, no doubt, I too sha’ face- The trial wha’ I shall fail- Till then I’ll toast tomorrow’s sun, Thus goes the Traveler’s Tale. |

You is just too damn good partner, I love the whole travelers tale Idea, it's great, you tell a most inspiring story that makes me want to go out and just live for the road, if you ever need a deputy just count me in . Loved it as with all your poems . L.of.L. Tom . Don't try, do or do not, there is no try . - Master Yoda - |
