A moment seeking peace Alone with the piano No written notes to follow No prescribed thoughts in mind No drink did I swallow Mental state has been a jumble All the guests who’ve had their say The politics that rumble The aches and pains the following day I played a few ninth chords A progression up the scale Mood was getting mellow Sounds from the old piano Bringing reverie once more Then a melody in right hand Kinda bluesy, kinda warm As I searched for just the right chords Some quiet in the night chords As thoughts of you did swarm Then words did match my fingers Chords fell in place just right C sixth, Dseventh, Aseventh, Eseventh, Gseventh, Csixth again… I should have been recording Because I can’t repeat it now But I was off in reverie Off in never, never land On a ship without a prow Sailing seas in outer space Dancing Kelly and Astaire Feather-light, you were with me As we danced on air As once before in real past Two side-men joined right in A gentle bass, snares on the drum Rounding out the music’s din This nameless doodle I played then It lasted oh so long There should have been a name for it It could have been a song All I know my heart it played But unlike you You only stayed The music’s gone forever Until you’re in my arms for real Then no one else can sever [This message has been edited by Wilfred Yeats (edited 09-25-2000).] |

What a wonderful verse of longing love. There are those times and moments that just deserve their own song. Your words sing out loud but they always do so what is new in this. Excellent doodling sir. |

Bill--I know I have played that same song...for though I haven't heard it, it is so familiar. |

Good morning, Mr. Yeats.... I liked your chord progression...was rather bluesy, a bit jazzy, and nice. I play, also, and find there's much peace and joy out of just sitting there, improvising. This is a wonderful poem to start my reading with this morning, very musical and warm... |

In my somber moods - It's Cminor, Fminor, G7 & back; with an almost classical flavor - but never managed to be there and do anything I thought memorable - Thanks Sunny ~You have to have a dream so you can get up in the morning. ~ Billy Wilder |

Karilea- There are pleasures in Life - eating I must now restrain - (Every # now goes to my Waist) But music - be it singing, or playing especially - is low calorie and gives me such pleasure _ I'm glad you do too. Thank you. ~You have to have a dream so you can get up in the morning. ~ Billy Wilder |

Sam, you played it for her...Here is a tear for you, grown from the heart. Now let us a new challenge start. Kethry "It is the image in the mind that links us to lost treasures; but it is the loss that shapes the image, gathers the flowers weaves the garland."- |
