Summer warms, as its days grow long, And its light shines brighter Than darkness can consume. Spring blossom, is now fruit on the tree, It is sweetened and coloured; coming of age Under hot rays of summer days. I see, breathe, and taste this season, Life is so good now I observe it with you. At the height of our midsummer’s day, A storm pounced and devoured My Love. All that is left in its passing wake Is, with deep remorse I say, “I loved deeper than I ever said, But, I only know it, now my Lover Is Dead.” |

Never wait to show your love to the one that captures your heart. Wonderful write and Welcome to Passions as I have missed you before. This one has much sadness in it but you penned the pain well and hopefully released some of it as well. |

Hi Mark, Thanks for your nice comment. I wrote the poem for a friend of mine who lost her partner suddenly, and totally unexpectedly. Best wishes Jon |

This is a beautiful poem, reminds me that life is unexpected, and that 'seize the day' is something we should remember. I really do like this. Marsha |
