Across the sands of time I have wondered through slime Searching for answer In fields of aster As I gaze upon the ocean In the early morning sun My feet ache For I have walked one hundred miles Questions I have asked Failure still all unanswered Streets of unknown addresses Doors that show no tenderness Trembling, in the savage gusts I close my eyes to all the lust For I have wandered for one hundred miles Through the rough of the hills Passing run down former mills Nearing the sand dunes My weariness show my misfortunes Years of searching Has left me pale and grey Tired I sit on a pile of hay Upon a beaten up ute tray For another one hundred miles As I return home empty handed Once more I will gather strength to try Finding you to take you home Even if your tears have run dry Because I know your love has never died You needed time and space And I promised to fulfill your wish To return you home again in my embrace I hope this time will be the last One hundred miles. Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love (Daniel J D) |

As I return home empty handed Once more I will gather strength to try Finding you to take you home Even if your tears have run dry Because I know your love has never died You needed time and space And I promised to fulfill your wish To return you home again in my embrace I hope this time will be the last One hundred miles. I love the style and flow of the verses you bring to us. They have a teasing way of bringing us into the poem itself. Ohhh and yeah, CONGRATS on your 100th post....twill be 500 before you know it. |

Mark, Somehow I wished you would be the first to reply, and that wish came true. Thank you kindly. From across the seas in OZ, I sincerely hope you will enjoy more of my writing. Cheers Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love (Daniel J D) |

"You needed time and space and I promised to fulfill your wish To return you home in my embrace I hope this time will be the last one hundred miles." Reminded me of that old song. If you miss the train I'm on you will know that I am gone cause you can hear the whistle blow one hundred miles..Congratulations on 100...James |

Thank you Marsha and jmlee, Your comments has been received with great joy. 100 miles is a long way, but every inch is worth another try, if the end result is positive. Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love (Daniel J D) |
