Waves (from 2/99 - a reminder of warm beach days)

Sunny day - some clouds
Drifting overhead
Intermittent shade

Gentle breeze
Warm sand
Digging toes into
Cooler subsurface sand
Watching the waves
Roll and break
And the foam bubble away
The only sound

Propped in beach chairs
Cooler, blanket
Sunglasses
You're reading
I say, "Beautiful swells"
You reply, "Is sex all you think of?"
Hurt, I say, "I was talking about the waves"
Book down, you look up
We watch together
As the larger ones curl
Fall of their weight
Crash on the sand
Spreading white foam
On the dark green
Receding water

The swells further out
With unstoppable energy
Roll and grow
As terns ride them freely

"That inevitability,
That power"
That beauty
Fascinate me"
I say

"I like the color
The shapes
The strength"
You say

We watch a surfer
Far down the beach
When he tumbles
We watch the gulls
And then
I'm watching you
As you look up
I take your hand
Kiss it

You pull our clasped hands
Kiss mine
I lean over
Too far
Damn!
Your laughter
Tinkles in the breeze
On my knees
Laughing too
Kiss your lips

On the blanket
Kisses, more kisses
Stroking
Clouds thicken
Winds increasing
Sudden chill
Lips blue
Goose bumps
Too much
Roll in blanket
Sharing body heat
Warmth of synergy
Generating energy
Fires lit
Hands exploring

Later
As breathing
Returns to normal
You look at me
With sly smile say,
"I didn't think
You could do that
With just your fingers"
I replied,
"I knew
You could"
As we cuddled, giggled
And watched the waves
Their strength,
Their beauty
Their inevitability.

Well put together. Brings back many memories. Remarkable skills.

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love

Paula-

Well, This is a "warming" piece Wilfred.

Thank you for painting a picture for me.
Love it all from begining to end!
